Jackie Kane (Writer & Director)

Jackie has produced a variety of shows in London in venues such as  BAC, the Union Theatre and the White Bear Theatre. As a writer, her first play, Room, sold out on its London run after a Time Out Critics’ Choice and was later produced by Riverside Studios at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it once again played to sell-out audiences and received 5 star reviews. Torn Out Pages is her fourth full-length play and was developed from a monologue commissioned by reduced circumstances for their actors’ showcase. Her other plays, This to This and Medeia were mounted in London by London Ensemble Productions which she co-runs.

Also an actor, Jackie’s credits include guest leads in The Vice, directed by Ashley Pearce, Taggart, directed by Ian Madden, Casualty, directed by Martin Sharp. For the RSC she played Shona in David Greig’s Victoria, directed by Ian Brown and she has also acted in all of her own plays. This is Jackie’s directorial debut.

Suzanne McKenzie (Elaine)

After graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Suzanne made her screen debut as Morag in David Blair's A Mug's Game for BBC Television. Other television roles include Suki in Rab C Nesbitt. Most recently, she filmed The Problem with Pets, directed by Catriona Craig and Lost in F**cking Translation, a website viral by Quiet Storm films for the anti sex-trafficking campaign launched by the Helen Bamber Foundation. For theatre, she played Amber in Fit, directed by Caroline Hunt for the Bristol Old Vic and Elaine in Torn Out Pages (monologue version) at The Jermyn Street Theatre. She recently appeared in Witchcraft, directed by Bronwen Carr for the Finborough Theatre.

Emma Keele (Rita)

Emma trained at LAMDA and her theatre credits include Susan in Five Kinds of Silence at Theatro Technis, Nina in Stalker at the Soho Theatre and Magrat in Wyrd Sisters at the Gatehouse. Her film experience includes the features All You Need is Love and Checklist and for BBC Television she appeared in New Tricks, directed by Graham Theakston. Emma’s recently filmed commercial for Sky Broadband is soon to be aired. Also a trained dancer, Emma has worked with various physical theatre companies, including a UK tour of an adaptation of T S Eliot’s poem The Waste Land.

Tom Sawyer (Joe)

Tom trained at The Poor School. Theatre Credits include the role of Jason in the UK tour of Sing Yer Heart Out For The Lads (Pilot theatre co.), Jamie in Someones Son and Sean in Dancing With Angels (Union Theatre), Mark in Blowing Whistles (Jermyn St Theatre), Kerm in Venezuela (Arcola Theatre). Television credits include the role of Paul in Hollyoaks (Lime Pictures), Simon in Murder Game (BBC), Switch in Family Affairs (Channel 5), Dylan Fox in The Bill (ITV), Steve in Murder Prevention (Channel 5). Film Credits include Ralph in the recently released Icharus Broken (BringitGiveitFilms Ltd), Will in Revolver .357 (Diamond Bullet prods/MTV), Costa in Love Me Still (Defiant Films). Tom has also appeared in numerous commercials and corporate videos

Andrew Dowbiggin (Andy)

Andy trained at East 15. He recently appeared in Love Soup for the BBC. Theatre credits have included: Pirate Captain in Don Quixote Rides Again (Birmingham Rep); Lennox & 1st Murderer in Macbeth (Pleasance); and David Jago in Pitch Black (based on Othello) in a tour with Vienna's English Theatre. This is his first appearance at the Edinburgh Festival.
